I am concerned over why my resting heart beat would be average or
higher when I workout hard and pride myself in being in what I consider
to be very good aerobic and physical shape?? If anyone could help me
in any way I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Just to let
everyone know, I am 16, but I am not sure if this affects anything.

Resting heart rates that are consistently high may indicate a problem. See your
doc.

It's often an indication of overtraining - a good first step, while
waiting for that doctor's appointment, is to cut back significantly on
the running for a few days - less intensity or distance or both.
