Post subject: Equipment for all around workouts
Archived from groups: misc>fitness>weights (more info?)

I have been contemplating a purchase of equipment, such as a smith
machine with lat pull, rows, and a few other accessories, to provide a
general all purpose solution to cover many exercises and to put in a
small area about 15 x 15 sq ft. Currently I have the Power Blocks and a
bench press with about 300 lbs of olympic weights as well as the bars.
I was thinking of the Cross Bow, but I'm not sure if it can provide
what I want plus I want to utilize my free weights. Therefore, the idea
of a smith machine came to mind. So I'm wondering if anyone can offer
a solution or recommendation of equipment to provide what I'm looking
for.

All help appreciated

Thank you

Power Rack (you can get one with pull-up/chin bar, dip handles, lat tower
etc. if you want)

Avoid the smith in favor of free weights, and most people do not recommend
leg extensions, squat instead.

Not sure where you are in the world but here in Adelaide Australia I found a
place which actually manufactured their own equipment. I had a bench
press(with dip grips) with leg extension bar at the end built then a few
years later had them build and add on a set up which included lat pull
downs, cable rows, tri pull downs etc. Not sure if it's worth your time
investigating an option like that? That way it will suit your needs and fit
where you need it to.
