You are reading the DragonDoor forum these days? Very good. I
encourage you to read this post from the forum's owner about how he
(note: not me, "he") manages things:
http://forum.dragondoor.com/training/message/447141/?kbid=1022
There are several others on this subject and related matters but I'm
sure, devotee of all things kettlebell that you are, you are already
aware of them, friend.

No. I just read the thread on some other forum, where Pavel was called
a fraud and plagiarist by some other Steve. I was mildly intrigued if
there was truth to this. You supposedly killed the thread on DD which
couldn't be ignored and warranted some reply.

So, is Pavel a Master of Sports or he is a fraud? I'm simply curious.
And if he is a Master of Sports, why don't he turn the tables and make
his accusers look foolish by producing a proof of the title he claims
to possess? And how about plagiarising a Smolov's article on
powerlifting? Is it true or not?

I don't give a damn about kettlebells, of course, but I may be curious
about who Pavel is nonetheless. And I passionately hate censorship in
my free time too.

If you are interested in answers to the above, I suggest you read the
other threads I mentioned on the DragonDoor forum, including a recent
one in which Pavel addresses these questions directly. Do you need me
to list the individual URL's for you?

Oh, no, not at all. Andrzej and I are best buddies. Andy (that's what
I call him), tell him about that time in Krakow, well, no, maybe we
better not.

It would be good. I scanned through Pavel's recent posts and found
nothing.

Did you start hating me recently? Why would it happen, I wonder.

This though makes no sense whatsoever. Either you like me, hate me or
remain totally indifferent.

I dislike things I didn't do being stated as facts. I don't hate you.
This is a public forum and you're entitled to say whatever you like
here, as am I.

Well, it looks rather awful, doesn't it? First, it's not written by
Pavel, but by somebody who says what Pavel said. Funny, if you ask me.
Second, Master of Sports is an official title which is granted to
people who pass official tests, not to somebody who supposedly made
the number during an in-house competition. That is the gist of the
whole accusation, that Pavel doesn't have the right to use the title,
and it seems that he can't defend it.
Regarding his plagiarism, I think that he is totally in the right here,
if the article in question is this one:
http://www.dragondoor.com/articler/mode3/80/
Smolov's article with this program can be found here:
http://www.powerlifting.ru/library/training/squat/s_articles/squat_smolov/
It's not the same thing. Program is the same, but text is totally
different, and program is properly attributed to Smolov, so here it
works fine. Still, Smolov is Master of Sports and Pavel probably is
not. If this is true, Pavel is a fraud.

You've been accused by others, and I believed them. My apologies for
not checking it out. I would keep my mouth shut (you can do what you
like in your free time) if not for the fact, that your answer about
doing more and saying less looked like too much of a tempting pun.

Yes, and if I make a mistake, I look like a fool.

He has defended it to my satisfaction, if not to yours. If the military
has the authority to award Levels I through 3, which are merely lower
grades on the same scale, while I can see how it might not be considered
official, neither is it a lift just witnessed by a bunch of guys
standing around somewhere.

Harsh words. The precise circumstances have been made known, and I
highly doubt the fact that they weren't before now was the result of
some sort of attempt to defraud. A better analogy might have been
claiming an AAU world record when the meet was refereed by officials
only certified to the state or national level - this has happened, and
the records don't count, but neither does anyone accuse the lifters of
not having made their lifts in legitimate circumstances. I do not know
all the details of Pavel's GS MS and likely never will.

If I was going to learn to keep my mouth shut, I would have learned a
long time ago. I have no interest in keeping my mouth shut, and ...

.... I have no problem looking like a fool if I make mistakes because I
learn from them. For the record, if I was given the right to moderate
the DragonDoor forum, I would like do it in a very similar manner,
including deleting many posts. It's a private, commercial venture and
under no obligations to leave anything up on its boards it doesn't want
to. Anyone who doesn't like the rules can leave; some have.
