Archived from groups: misc>fitness>weights (more info?)

I am 29 year old, 6 feet tall male, 189 lb
I exercise 5 days a week, 50 minutes aerobics (35minutes running at
5.8mph,15 minute inclined walk) followed by circuit exercises(crunches,
lifting myself up, exercise waist trimming) and I have been doing this
for almost 5 months now.
I eat healthy (I am vegetarian, no meat, no fish, no sea food )
Cereal with skim milk
Max 700 calories for Lunch
Max 300 for evening snack, No dinner

I am not loosing fat around stomach, I do not have fat anywhere else,
my chest part and legs are in very good shape.

Can anyone guide me in good direction to loose the fat around stomach.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Genetics. You can thank your parents for that. I have been in the same
boat before. As mentioned, I am 6'2" 230 lbs. My 'normal weight is
around 200-210. When I was 20 I became a hardcore vegan for 4 years.
Went down to 160lbs. Workout like crazy. Every part of me was
hard-skinny too, but hard. Legs, Arms, chest. But not my stomach. It
wasnt' a huge boiler. But I could never get rid of that little area in
the front of my stomach. I had ribs showing like crazy, but still the
pouch. At that point I accepted it. I will never have a 6 pack without
lipo or some other surgery which I would never do.

Boost your lunsh calories to 725 and your evening snack down to around
295 and that should do it. Its all about tuning your diet in to exact
perfection and being extra anal retentive about it. Or course if your
anal retentive then your gut may appear bloated and you may not notice
any reduction in gut size. Its all about balance.

I'm not sure I would consider packaged cereal with skim milk a
particularly healthy meal to eat every single day, especially if you
aren't eating much else....I would call most cereals sort certainly not
a terrible food, but not a great food either... wait a second, wow, you
aren't eating much at all... not sure what else to say...

Yeah, your calorie intake is way too low. Your in starvation mode.
Increase calories-good calories-not junk. Switch more to free weights.
Squats, Bench press, etc.

Best guesstimate - insufficient protein and insufficient good fat in
your diet. Itemize, please, the protein/fat/carb content of your diet
for a week and repost.

more likely (at least to me)...caloric estimates woefully wrong.
exercise is minimal. start lifting heavier weights
and build some muscle. also, you are not vegetarian.
you admit to drinking milk. call yourself something else
(not that the label matters anyway).

I've found better luck with 745 calories for lunch, and 282 for my evening
PETA friendly snack.

That would certainly do the trick, but there are ways to do it as a
veggie if that's what he want, particularly since he's still eating
dairy. Whey powder.

Only Protein food I eat are soy protein, boca burgers (vegan), Eggs
without the yolk .

For lunch I generally eat Wheat bread Or a little bit of rice with a
side order of salad or some gravy (not rich at all)

But the calorie intake quoted earlier is right no matter what I eat.

Thanks for all your feedback,

I am not expecting "abs of steel". I just want to flat stomach, am I
asking too much ??

Doing aerobics I burn around 700 calories , And I was wondering if I
quit aerobics and start doing weights seriously, Will I gain weight coz
I wont be burning 700 calories anymore(dumb question ???) Or should I
do aerobics and weights alternate days ??

Also is it a good idea to stay just on fruits (oranges, cantaloupes etc
) and 1 glass of skim milk for dinner and nothing else

Also curious of anyone knows protein rich food which doesn't have meat
(like boca burgers and soy etc)

Do 50/50 heavy weights and cardio. Intense cardio too, not Im reading
a novel on the treadmill.

Heavy weights. Bench, Squats, Pull ups.

Increase your calorie intake. Thats not enough.
