Actually, when he dropped the weights after finishing the set of back
squats there was a bit of a scary noise. Other than that, love the
disclaimer. Thanks for the reference, it was very inspiring.

295 kgs works pretty well for powerlifting too...

You don't consider these fine powerlifting squats?

I don't doubt you could squat MORE wearing wraps and a belt and being
spotted and going less deep. But I don't think I've ever seen more
beautiful squatting than this. Can you squat as beautifully as that?

No way. In the catch of the clean you have to drop under the load. That
is a perfect weightlifting squat. It prepares you for the sport and
develops specific strength and conditioning.

This aint the clean. And he is dropping fast because the weight is too
much for him. >> Stay informed about: What a squat OUGHT to look like |

And yet somehow he was able to squat the weight ridiculously low for a
double. I wish that I could lift the weights that are "too much" for
me in such a decisive manner.

I agree. He blew the weight away.
The only thing some might call a flaw is his knees come in a bit. But...
Jeez. 655 lbs ass to the grass, high bar and explodes out of the hole.
That is some impressive.

He went deep, but he didnt bounce. His hams were close to the calves, but
barely touched them.
This type of squat impresses me a whole lot more then a PL sqaut, with that
typical wide stance, feet 3 feet apart, a belt that could strangle an
elephant and knee wraps so thight that these guys walk like ducks before
they made it to the bar. This guy didnt use any of the above.

Yeah. i've squatted 280 kgs (617) in competition with the above
mentioned style and I couldn't even come close to this weight in a
hi-bar squat. Very impressive. Especially since he isn't fat and
bouncing his belly off his thighs.
That is a huge squat. I didn't add up the plates, but to me if it is 295
kg that is like a 400 kg PL style squat.
