I guess that is one way to do it.
Take it from a guy who builds things and have to make sure the fit into a
specific space. We use tape measures. This is a handy device that rolls
out a tape that has inches (or metric) on it. Just measure the thickness of
the weights. (I use a set of calipers for this, but a tape measure will do)
Measure how much space you have on the dumbell ends with the collar on it.
Divide one number by the other. This will give you the number of plates you
canfit on the handle.
It is called math. Most of us took it in school. It ain't that hard. If you
can't do it, you no doubt know someone who can.
