She 78 is absolutely right. Nutrition is the key.
Get your training right. If you are tring to gain muscle, then make sure you are getting stronger over time. Keep providing new stimuli (increase weights, varied training, super sets etc) to tell you muscles to grow. In other words if you keep doing the same thing (same program without increasing the weight or reps) it will stop working.
What exercise training program you choose is unlimited. Just get to work and try different things out. Speak to your fitness instructor at the gym, or scour the net for programs or exercises.
Now back to the nutrition part. Learn the best foods to help add muscle. Dont go overboard with too much eating. Keep tp around 300-500 calories more than it takes for you to maintain your bodyweight. Slowly is the key. You dont wanna eat too much too soon and gain too much fat.
Supplements are the icing on the cake. Most people dont have their normal eating right b4 they spend loads on supplements. If they saved their money and learned how to eat properly theyed be much better off.
So, you dont need to spend loads to get the body you want. I think there is an assumption that if you spend a lot you will get what you want. Well, I think rather than spending money, spend your 'time' on learning about training, nutrition, and most importantly.... learning about yourself.
Hope this helps...
