5:47 mile as the first mile of a 5k when I was about 30 years old -
wasn't even trying to go that fast. No longer running regularly but I
usually do 3:05-3:10 on a 1/2 mile loop in a park with my kids at a pace
that feels brisk but not all-out, and I usually do a few reps of that
when we're timing each other. I credit my kettlebell strength/endurance
work for my times not having gotten worse.

Around 18 minutes but that includes a 10 minute rest stop around half mile
point for lunch

I ran ten miles in 72 minutes and three miles in 18 minutes during high
school, but that was a bajillion years ago.

I'd be surprised if I could squeeze out one mile in nine minutes right
now, though. It's winter and I've been lazy.

What's the fastest mile currently? Don't know, but here's some
historical info:

If I walk fast enough, about 4 mph.

Depends on the size of the dog chasing me.

It depends:
1.) What's chasing me?
2.) What do I have to do after I run that mile?

you deserve some serious answers. running is a great aerobic exercise, and
everyone should do at least 1 to 1 1/2 hours of it a week. when i was in my
early sixties, i ran a mile in a road race at 6:15. now, since my weight is
up due to more resistance training and age, under 8 min would be tough. you
yunguns, under 50 should be able to do a 7 to 7 1/2 min mile. if not, you
are not fit enough, and are deemphasizing aerobic training.

If Bully were after me, I'd press at least 100 lbs.

I hate running.

Last time I was timed, I did 2 miles in 14 minutes.

Huh. That was 23 years ago.
