Yes.
The mechanics of the two exercises are, in some ways, similair.
It doesnt make any sense to perform deadlifts for the quads/glutes/hams.
Like you said yourself, you allready squat heavy.
If anyone comes in between and tells you what wonderfull effects the
deadlift has on the upper body, let me say this;
Rows. Pulldowns. Shrugs. Wrist curls.

Depends.
I DID do deadlifts in the past, to help me bring out the spinal erectors and
traps.
I didnt use that much weight, but it worked. However... when you allready
squat, it makes a lot more sense to do the SL dead. The pull seems to come
more from the hams, which makes this exersice a nice add-on to squats WRT
lower bodt development.
Again, if you squat, and also do SL deads AND rows, there is NO point
whatsover, to do regular deads.
