It depends on too many factors to make generalizations. Factors include
starting weight, starting % bodyfat, degree of calorie deficit, type and
extent of exercise, macronutrient composition of diet, use of supplements
and/or drugs.
So, it depends.

Internet $s require renewal. It's a use-it-or-lose-it thing. Lyle would need
to post in MFW at least once every six months to keep his Internet $
copyrights active on this newsgroup.

probably genetics also makes a contribution. I'd like to hear of
supplements which cause you to burn fat faster or lose muscle slower

Very nice. I'll have to remember that site for when Mocha is full grown.
I went to Petco the other day looking for a collar. I wanted one that had a
D ring for the name tag, license, etc., and one on the top for attaching a
leash. They don't sell one. From what I can see in this picture, these
have just that.

Dietary protein is probably number one!
Others may include:
Steroids
Clenbuterol
ECA stack
Just to name a few.

Lyle has suggested 75% as a ballpark figure before. He's also posted some links
to studies. Google is your friend. Based on my recollection, I'd punch in
things like Lyle, 75, LBM, lean body mass, essential (there was some good
discussion on essential vs non essential LBM)
Cheers,

I'll tell you why I'm asking. I really need to lose some weight to get
a job that I want. Well, as I've lost weight, I've been weighing using
one of those Tanita scales that checks your BF%. My BF% seems to be
staying about the same as I lose weight. Which means that I'm losing
more LBM than fat, which seems almost unbelievable. At this rate, I'm
not accomplishing much of anything really. I'd like to see my weight
and BF% BOTH come down (obviously). >> Stay informed about: when you lose weight, what % tends to be fat vs non-fat? |

If you are not losing bodyfat, while losing scale weight, I would take
a good look at what you are or arent eating. While exercise is an
important factor, your nutrition is more like 80% of the equation while
exercise is only 20%. If you arent feeding your body right, you wont be
seeing the results you want. Use an online program like FitDay to see
what/where you may be lacking and need to make adjustments.
