I'm trying to loose fat which is mainly around my belly. I just want to
tighten up my abdominal section.I've done that many crunches I actually
damaged my spine around my neck so I am using a neck brace at the moment.
The rest of me is not too bad. I've been lurking here and notice there are a
few very smart people here and wonder if you could give me some good advice.
Nothing too strenuous please if possible -also I don't have all that much
time so if it could be something I could for just a few minutes per day.
Would I have to go on a diet of some kind? It's just the other day these
kids laughed at me and one of them called me a 'fat cunt'. So if you can
help me tighten up my loose fat - just around my belly would be fine. thanks

Do density training. You basically pick several exercises and do them
one a day for as many reps as you can during your 15min time period.
Whenever you reach your target rep number (let's say 30 i 15min) you
increase your load. Good exercises for upper body would be pushups,
pullups, dips, cheat curls etc. For lower body it might be thrusters,
various squats, step-ups and so on.

Simple equipment and dedication will get you much further than good
equipment and lack of drive.

> Would I have to go on a diet of some kind?

Maybe, but I managed to lose (not loose, really!) some weight and get
more muscular at the same time with no diet. Depends how much fat you
want to get rid off and how lean you want to get in the end.

Where your body stores fat depends mostly on your genetics. There is
no way to lose fat at some specific place and keep it somewhere else.

I hate the loose fat and, yeah, naturally prefer the tight fat.

See? The tight fat is much better than the loose fat.

Reminds me of a job I had as a teenager. Was at a family restaurant and
the manager and his sister worked there. She was teasing her brother
about his waistline and we joked that he wasn't fat that it was just
relaxed muscle around his belt line.

Damn. All jokes re loose versus lose aside, gotta admire that type of
determination. Have you visited a chiropractor for that neck pain?

Oh? What about the rest of us???

Sure. You wanna lose fat from around your waist in just a few minutes a
day. Unfortunately, you can't - so far as I know - lose fat from
specific points on your body, but rather from all over your body.
Fortunately, in just a few minutes per day, you *can* perform push
aways. Something you've certainly heard of if you've indeed been
lurking here.

You can also grab that copy of The Abs Diet by David Zinczenko. His
book is something I've often mentioned in this newsgroup. His eating
and exercising recommendations offer a great compilation of advice on
losing that fat you are talking about, David. Check it out online:
http://theabsdiet.com/

I'd rather be what they called you than to be those kids, David.
Namecalling can be hurtful, but I suspect you'll get a lot of
satisfaction by not reacting to their taunts. Trust me, that's
something difficult to do (something you're also aware of if you've
been lurking), but it's absolutely better in the long run.

> So if you can help me tighten up my loose fat - just

Losing the fat has to do with what you put in your mouth as well as the
amount of cardio you perform. Take some regular walks or hit the
treadmill if that's available to you. A few miles at the high school
track if it's not.

Best of luck. Please post a follow-up.

Is there a test that Internet providers give people before they let them sign up
to make sure that they don't know the difference between the word "lose" and
"loose?"

to carry on being competitive and don't want to end up a looser. For
goodness sake Oz, hang lose!

Rob, there is an expression that goes "playing fast and loose with the
truth"
http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=%22fast+and+loose+with+the+tru...22&meta

so when you observed that I didn't know the difference between "loose" and
"lose" I thought I would use the *wrong* lose/loose in the well know
expression and say "fast and lose" with the truth just to highlight the
wrong use of that word again

Know what I mean?
