lat pull-downs on a machine and pull-ups or chin-ups (with or without

From exrx.net it appears that the lateral pulldown works more muscle groups:

b.. Brachioradialis
c.. Biceps Brachii
d.. Teres Major
e.. Deltoid, Posterior
f.. Infraspinatus
g.. Teres Minor
h.. Rhomboids
i.. Levator Scapulae

k.. Trapezius, Middle
l.. Pectoralis Minor
Dynamic Stabilizers

a.. Triceps, Long Head
Assisted Pull-up works the following muscles:
