Power cleans and push presses, alternating hands, hard sets, until I can't push
press the thing any more.

Power cleans, alternating hands, hard sets, until I don't want to any more.

Front squats, alternating hands, one hard set each.

Farmer's walk: walk away with it in my weak hand as far as I can, until it falls
from my hand. Pick it up in my strong hand, walk back.

Dan John is a bad influence.

You can do them all the way if you swing your hips enough!

Although training to failure ain't my thing, it sounds like a simple,
effective, brutal collection of exercises one can do with minimal
equipment - always good.

Care to post weights, sets, reps, rest periods, etc., as well as your
height, weight, age, etc.?

Sounds like an excellent routine all right ... never even thought of
doing squats with a dumbell.

My favourite dumbell exercise is the turkish get-up. Hold dumbell
overhead, lie down on your back while keeping your arm vertical, get
back up again. Rinse, lather, repeat. You might want to go a tad
lighter than 100 lbs for that... I do sets of 3/arm with a 50.

I can't snatch or overhead squat a 100# dumbbell.

Yet. Wink

That's a heavy weight for a guy with your build in the turkish get-up.
Well done.

So last night I was doing the single arm clean and press. Thought I'd
go with a nice light weight for sets of 8. Yeah, not so light after I
was done.

Thanks. I don't know whether to thank you or curse you for introducing
me to that exercise, but one thing for sure - it's made me stronger.
