I think she meant food high in carbs that dont occupy too much space in the
stomach.
Like pasta. Its what i call a "caloric dense food."
Because it doesnt have much fiber.
> How do you define "quality" when it relates to dense carbs?
Wish i knew.
In the end, a carb = carb = carb.
> On a further note, how will fibre help in a bulking diet?
I doesnt.
I recommend fiber when people want to lose weight. You, lots of space
occupied in the stomach without much carbs. High quality carbs ;-O
But when it comes to food and diet, i actually should shut up gracefully,
and dont give recommendations
And i wont.

I'd not go quite that far...
Efficient and proper digestion of carb foods can be aided by the correct
amount of fiber.
An efficient digestive system is what you want to achieve.
Believe it or not, proper water intake is also very helpful.

I try based on what I know but will never claim to be an expert.
But I don't mind being contradicted. If someone has a differing concept
that they can back up with appropriate references, I chalk it up to
personal education.
Most people just post links. A clogged up intestine will prevent you
from absorbing the proper nutrients. Fiber helps to keep it clean so
fiber is just as important for gaining weight as losing it.
Not a bad idea for URL's.
Let's see what we can find:
http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:gGGYRsaFQUMJ:www.snac.ucla.edu/pages/
Resources/Handouts/HOWtGain.pdf+how+to+gain+weight&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd
=2
Or:
http://tinyurl.com/y45mwk
Note that pretty much most of those foods are high carb...
and high fiber.
Clean intestines absorb nutrients better.

By dense carbs, are you talking about carbs with a high Glycemic
Index?

YOU invent your own terminology and then suggest it's someone else's fault
for not understanding WTF you are talking about.
Try looking up simple/complex carbs and take it from there eh?

In the past, it's been a lot easier for me to take off fat during the
course of a lifting regimen than it's been to put on muscle.
My first run at "body retrieval" had me losing fat and gaining lean
mass for the first couple months.
At this weight and BF, I'm mostly concerned that I've lost so much
lean mass, it's a priority to get it back. I know the advantages of
more lean mass affecting metabolism are overrated, but for some reason
with my genes it seems to be the case. The fat will take care of
itself once I'm back at the gym 3 or 4 times a week and paying
attention to what I eat (ie, no more late-night runs to KFC).

Still, the foods that are the most caloric dense, or the ones that contains
the most carbs per 100 gram, dont have much fiber. The fibers occupy space
and weight. Not that i am saying thats a bad thing.

Dense?
