You DO understand that the human body can burn it's own body fat for energy,
right? I know Curt is clueless in this, and most other, regards, but I have
more hope for you. It would take a day or two to adjust to a PSMF. In other
words, the weekend.
I don't know what your job is, but I am required to make complex decisions,
routinely, of a life and death nature, as well as perform fine motor and
gross motor activities. I have no problems doing this on a PSMF. In
addition, I have engaged in strenuous physical activity on a PSMF without
problem.

Your job is safe.

You will be utilizing 1000 calories of INGESTED food, and a nearly
inexhaustable supply of calories from body fat.

You can't make that judgment without knowing what his job is, imo. He,
afaik, hasn't specifically stated why he's unable to ditch the
calories as recommended.
Maybe... he's a food taster by profession.
Like maybe you're a dick, Cohen.

You have been around this newgroup long enough to know that there will
always be those who will take any drug/supplement and/or try any
exercise program, but under no conditions will they do anything about
their diet. I suspect this is one.
I have seen such fat guys at the gym for years. They come a couple of
times every week and spend an hour on the treadmill, until they are
soaked with sweat, but they never lose a pound. And they will come up
with any rationalization imaginable as to why they can't regulate
their diet.
Unless this guy is a sumo wrestler, I don't see a PSMF affecting his
job. >> Stay informed about: I've got a month and a half to burn some fat |

Note to the OP: I didn't understand Cohen's reference to Curt because
I have the moron killfiled, so I checked Google. Curt is a
perpetually skinny elementary school art teacher. When it comes to
knowledge of efficient and effective fat loss, Curt couldn't find his
ass with both hands. Perhaps it's time for a repost of this one:
This is Curt: http://tinyurl.com/z2d2y
This is Curt on weights: http://www.rustyiron.net/curtpics.htm
Any questions?

Is your POSSLQ familiar with a PSMF?
You're something. He stated his stats. He benches more than you and he
can do more pullups than you and yet you find yourself ranting about
guys who show up in the gym, spend a few minutes on the treadmill,
sweat profusely, and leave while showing no progress. What did that
example have to do with the OP? Nada.
Guess you're also a fan of the Pertinence SMF.
Schmuck.
Someone please quote this so Schmuckly doesn't have to /wait/ until he
stumbles across it while /just-by-chance/ using Google groups. D'OH!

The fastest healthy ways to lose weight, and fat, are, in order:
1) liposuction
2) PSMF
3) everything else
You have chosen #3. That's OK. It doesn't make you a bad person.
Your original question was: "Could anyone else lend me some advice on how to
make the most effective
use of my time before the camping trip?"
I gave you the answer. What you do with it is your business.
If you're gonna' stick around, you also need to recognize the trolls. We
have a lot of them right now. Curt is one, but to his credit, sometimes
doesn't troll and usually posts under his own name. The other, primary, one
virtually never posts under his own name, and will often post under other
posters' names. He's fairly easy to recognize, and easy to ignore.

What do you do more specifically? I don't eat during the day at all,
although my job is to sit at the desk and wonder about irrelevancies
(it is still quite demanding).
> Anyway, I'll do my best to "digest" this advice and follow it as

You can also try to eat as infrequently as you can handle, optimally
right after your workout. This works for me. There is good evidence
that this is healthier than lots of small meals. Try
"mattson mp"[Author] AND "intermittent fasting"
on PubMed, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi
BTW I can do more pullups than you in a set but my bf is a lot less,
below 7%. You can also join our 2006 "pullup challenge"
I can assure you that in this particular exercise you can make
progress while losing weight even if you're not a beginner.
Next hour, I'm going to do 5 pullup sets of 3 reps with the added
120 lb. (Eat your heart out, Steve) >> Stay informed about: I've got a month and a half to burn some fat |

My observations are the same.
Naturally, I have read Admiral Hadov's tales of fabulous pullup feats,
but I place him in the same category as Baron von Munchausen. >> Stay informed about: I've got a month and a half to burn some fat |

100.0 kilos or slightly less at noon on May 6, 2006. I popped them

There's a guy who posts on DragonDoor and co-authored one article on
one-armed chinups. I believe he weighed 100 kg (220 lbs.) and could do
a one-armed chin. He is, as they say, the exception that proves the
rule.
