Seemed pretty inane to me. I don't know why someone would care if
someone else is measuring out mushrooms and onions or not.

Where is "here"? Predictably, I'm in alt.support.diet. But I think
there's a law or something that every newsgroup must have at least a
couple of kooks.

Hey Martha, fancy seeing you here.
But anyways, no amount of celery will ever make you fat no matter how
much you eat. Celery is the only food that it takes more calories to
digest than it supplies, so the more you eat, the more you lose.

That's not quite true. Fiber typically results in 1-2 calories/gm
because intestinal bacteria partially convert it into something
digestable.

Anyway, cucumber and lettuce have similar net calorice values.

Now, if you include the energy spent preparing them, the result might
still be negative.

To a very close approximation, timing is irrelevant; total calories
matters.

Wow! Look at all the calories our group burned replying to that comment!
Thanks! haha

I also measure everything no matter how small because I have no control
otherwise. This will have to be a lifelong thing with me if I am to be in
control of hand to mouth. So far it works. Whatever works, let's do it!

Is her original message 1 cup or 1 carton of egg beaters? Or is it the same
thing?

1 1/2 cups of egg beaters is what I used to figure the points - not sure how
that relates to a carton. Here we have single serving cartons as well as
cartons which hold multiple servings. Sorry!
