Okay. I wasn't thinking quite that far ahead. I was just thinking how
long it will take me to get the weight off first. I wasn't thinking

True.

That sounds like me when I quit smoking years ago. It took me 6 months
before I knew I was never going to have another cigarette again. One
year before the *monkey* was completely off my back. (ie. no more
cravings)

That is what I have been doing with a notebook and I was tracking
everything with a carb, calorie, fat gram counter book. Now I think I
will save a little time and punch everything into Fitday. >> Stay informed about: Help me lose the fat |

My BMR tells me I should have 2480 calories daily minimum just for my
body to survive...heartbeat, bloodflow, etc. Should I subtract 500
calories from that or just keep my calorie intake at 2400? >> Stay informed about: Help me lose the fat |

She wants to lose weight. There's another gal there that finally talked
with her about her eating. Many people think that if they simply work out
hard, they can eat whatever they want. That is not the case.

Your BMR should include your activities. Then subtract your 500 - 1,000
cal. If you can handle it, go for 1,000 cal deficit and see what happens.
But, you have to track everything that passes over your gums. Everything.
Pop, a cup of juice, a single cookie, a handful of nuts...everything.

That will never happen. While I do not like seeing overweight people
getting the prejudice they receive in everyday life (me included)
there is nothing they can say to me that would make me think that it
is okay to be overweight because healthwise it is not okay. It is
taxing on our health system and our bodies. >> Stay informed about: Help me lose the fat |

My knees *scream* at me on a daily basis but I can do some walking
when they are not so bad. Aspirin pretty much helps when they are
very bad and I have been taking Triplex and even after one week of
that I am starting to notice a difference.

Anything in the water is fine for me but I have yet to try cycling or
the elliptical.

The local school doesn't have one. The only one is downtown at the Y.

Just remember, you can permanently mess up your knees. Then you're screwed,
but not in the good way. If your knees are screaming, look for something
else non-impact until you can shed some lbs. Even 50 lbs will make a big
difference.
The gal I'm currently dating is a water aerobics instructor. She showed me
some of the stuff she does with her classes, and I was impressed. That
would give you a great workout without the stress on your joints. It would
also allow your supporting tissue around the joints to develop before
placing undue strain on them.
Based on your current weight, you may be able to get a membership through
your health insurance to a gym that has classes . I'd hit your doctor up
with that.

Are your peaches special?

One small peach (about 1/2 cup or so) is ~8g carb.

I found TOPS. You get to use your own plan or one provided by your
doctor or dietician, it costs $20 a year for membership, they have
weigh-ins every week and I found a meeting time that suits my
schedule. Much better IMO then WW. >> Stay informed about: Help me lose the fat |
