No, he said hip, which is the side of the body when most people use it to
describe where a pain lies!!!
At the side, the hip joins the leg. At the rear, the butt joins the leg !

The back part of the hip joint is above the butt. The leg starts at the
hip joint.
I have Sciatica. The pain radiates from the lower back right back above
and thru the gluteus minimus and thru the hip joint and down my rear and
outer thigh, and when it gets really bad, clear down to my knee.
It's most debilitating.

Correction. The back part of the _sacral_ joint is above the butt.

Some mild stretching along with more ibuprophen might help.
http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/HipsWt.html
Note the stretches on the right - also the corresponding anatomy links
might help you pinpoint where the pain is coming from.
I pulled a hip flexor before and it took about two months to completely
heal.
