Hi there guys
Do you know of any site that feature large variety of dumbbell exercises ?
I'm living on small island on the Malaysia's west coast where nearest gym is
4 hours away. Also no one will deliver to me any equipment , so I left with
dumbbells only. This I can bring myself, few at the time.
I understand that I can't substitute many machines but I rather do something
with the dumbbells than nothing at all.
Could you please advice ?
Regards

Try this: http://www.stumptuous.com/program8.html You might also
look over the rest of the site, as well.
I've had very good results with just dumbbells (although a chinup bar
is a nice addition to them).

There are good articles on the Internet about using only your bodyweight
for conditioning - several on http://www.dragondoor.com in the Articles
section. They also sell a book entitled "Naked Warrior" which discusses
training for strength with limited or no access to weights -

Powerhooks and a nice bench set-up to hang them on are a great improvement
for dumbbell workouts.

You're welcome, but this is mfw - we often go on and on and on and on
after the initial question has been answered, and usually in a direction
completely unrelated to our point of departure.
But you're welcome, really.

I noticed
I try to search the forum via google first and threads that stared with something
I was looking for ended , in nasty ways sometimes
But you guy are great, the resources here (Malaysia) is so poor that I'm pleased with
any help i can get.
No culture for body building or exercise , all the supplements cost allot due to lack of
interest in products. Protein bar 24 gram protein about 5$ , 750 gram powder , 150 $.
Treadmills about 3.000$ , not a best one. Hard to find good equipment and if you do will
cost allot and if you live far, no one will bother to send it to you.
Anyway, I keep an eye because many good information can be found here and I truly appreciate
your help guys.
Thank you

It's going to be a bit harder for you than if you lived in, say,
southern California, USA. On the other hand, I think you have what
you really need. With a set of dumbbells, mfw, Google, and the desire
to get in shape, you should be fine.
On a more personal note, this is none of my business, but I'm curious.
Living in an area where the culture doesn't support exercise, how did
you decide to get in shape?

See if you can find powdered milk for a reasonable price. Assuming
you don't have problems with lactose intolerance, it's a very
nutritous food with lots of high-quality protein. It's also
convenient.
Or if seafood is reasonably priced where you live, that's a good
source of protein. Start looking at what foods are available to you
locally, and figure out what the protein content is, and how much it
costs you to buy a gram of protein as food instead of supplements.
One of my cheapest protein sources is actually whole eggs, which just
also happens to be one best proteins for people. But if I bought it
as a powder, with the fat removed, it'd cost me more than whey protein
powder.

Hi Patrick
There is a girl I know , Urami , Japanese-Euro mix, she has some large Internet
company in Kuala Lumpur, the capitol, and she comes to this island often because
she as well run dive shop. It's a hobby kind of thing and make money in the same
time to cover the expenses so she usually bring group of people here along and take them
diving . Have few boats , storage and cafe with grill.
Most of the girls around are just slim and for long time I was thinking being
slim was fine but when I saw this girl I just could not help to ask. She wasn't just
slim , she had very nice muscles , triceps and everything. You can put beer on the buttock
and not because it was so fat/big
I start asking and Urami said she was starting right here. About 3 or so years ago ask for
assistance then talk to some girl whose URL , one of you pasted in previous post
http://www.stumptuous.com/ , said learn from her allot.
My other friends say she is too huge and they scared to exercise not to become like Arnold,
I can't explain enough that is almost impossible to be like that but ignorance is stronger.
Anyway, she isn't huge, she just look cool and healthy. I don't have access like Urami to big
gym and money for the supplements, she bought big set of dumbbells for me and I can pay it off
for next year monthly. SO I have from 7.5, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 pounds set.
She ask me to stop buy here as you guys would know best how to work out in my case with
dumbbells only and promised that once I get to the 50 pound she will get me gift of
60, 70 and maybe 80. Problem is to carry it here
I'm very enthusiastic, i have white plastic 1KG dumbbells but Urami said I should use it as
a door stopper and not to be worry to use heavier weights Just make sure to ask how and carefully
learn so I don't hurt myself.
I was told not to take personally the bad stuff I could read here, heard about it allot.
And the first time I ask I got allot of help. Now with the dumbbells I just can't wait
to go back and start working out. I just love it and try to do all I can with what I have.
In here membership in gym is sight of luxury lifestyle, place
to hang out and it cost about 500$ a year , some 1500$ a year. I Envy you guys having such good
access to all it but i have my dumbbells and should be fine
Have a nice day guys
best regards
