| Anyone tell me where is the place to buy some relatively inexpensive
cast iron dumbbells? It doesn't matter if it is covered with vinyl. I
need some that allow me to have a good grip and lasts long. I don't
like the removable ones because i've heard the clips that hold these
don't last over much usuage. Thanks.

No, thank you! It does my former proofreader's heart good to read
creative variations to the spelling of otherwise boring everyday kinda
words. Sweet.

Dunham's, too.
And, iirc, Walmart has 'em as well.
Good hunting!

I don't know about Om (really, I don't ;o)), but I meant any big box
sporting goods place. Whether it's Oshman, Sports Authority, Dicks,
Dunham's, or the other chains like Walmart, Target, etc.
Go to the mall and buy some weights. Also you could place a cheap ad
in the local penny saver. I know there are people in your neighborhood
with hex dumbbells collecting dust in their basement or under a bed
somewhere. Okay, not 100% positive, but I suspect there are dumbbells
to be had. And near you! Whether it's at a store or next door. GO GET
'EM!

I only suggested Oshman's because that is where I bought all my stuff
for a home gym, including cast dumbells, about 6 years ago.
I was able to outfit an entire small home gym including a good bench
with leg work attachments, dumbells from 5 to 30lbs. and an olympic bar
and weight set, all for under $600.00.
That included the storage racks for the weights.
The often have sales where they sell the dumbells by the lb. I bought
them for $.99 per lb.
I have no idea if Oshman's has changed names or not. I've not had to go
back there for anything for a very long time.
Wal-mart is ok, but they don't have the variety of dumbells for sale
that a good sporting goods place does, at least not here.
But our local Wal-mart does carry affordable lead in other forms.
In the hunting dept.
