Hello,
I am a 19 years old 5'10 and I weigh between 143 and 148 pounds
(depending on if I ate much that day, lol). I've always been skinny so
I'm assuming I'm an ectomorph. I want to start working out to where I
gain some strength and muscle; I REALLY need to work on my bench press,
as I can only bench like 80 pounds and that's only once or twice, on a
good day.
I understand all the stuff about eating, sleeping, taking vitamins.
What I really need help with is with coming up with a routine would be
right for me. I would want to exercise 2 or 3 times a week. Any advice
would be appreciated, thanks a bunch.

And remember, a good firmly packed turd can easily weigh 5lbs or more.
Perhaps next time you poop you could weight it, and let us know? An avi
would be nice too.

Or if you're into that kind of stuff, I can just poop on your face.

go here:

http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html

and follow the link to the workout. Pick a 3X per week routine. Forget the
ectomorph stuff. Just eat up, lift, and get plenty of rest (don't do
shitloads are cardio). You'll grow.

Try this routine. It worked for me. I was a 6' 3 " 150 lbs wuss. Start
increasing your protine intake. Follow the general rule that you should
take one gram of protine per pound of body weight, i.e. 200grams =
200lbs.
For your routine try this.
Monday: bench press
incline press
shoulder press
your choice of tricep exercise.
Wednessday: pull downs ( wide and close grip)
one arm dumbbell rows
bicep curls
Friday: leg press
squats
calf raises

When doing your sets go heavy and do about 5 reps per set. I personaly
like the pyramid. Start with a weight you know you can do 10 of and
than gradually increase your weight while lowering your reps. I.E.
staart with 60lbs and do ten reps than go to 65 or 70 and do 8 reps 80
lbs do 5 reps and so on until you reach a weight you can only do 1 rep
of then start working your way back down the weights and increase your
reps. Allways focus on proper form. dont cheat or comprimisee form for
more weight you will only hurt yourself. By the way I am now 220lbs.
with about 18% body fat.

1) learn to quote
2) the site's advice works equally well for men...

It's not a good idea for a newbie to "go heavy".
