I know this may sound like a stupid question, though, will tightening
my ABS while walking or sitting during the day do much to help develop
my abdominal muscles?

I wouldn't be carrying your braking system around and adjusting it as
abdominal work. Even if you are qualified, just leave it on the vehicle,
adjust it there, and then do some crunches.
