Has anyone tried Walk Away the Pounds by Leslie Sansone? I tried it
for the 1st time today...I really liked. I just wanted to get some
other opinions.

I use the Leslie Sansone dvd's. She has quite a few different ones.
Which one did you get? I have them ranging from 1 all the way up to
5 miles and really love this workout.

Why?
If you're the one doing the walking, yours is the only opinion that counts!
Enjoy yourself. That will help keep you doing it long term.

The only thing that boggles my mind more than poker on TV (and the hoardes
that apparently watch it) is Sansone's walk away the pounds.

First, it's not walking. It's less than walking. And walking is already
about the lowest baseline for fitness that there is--power walking, race
walking and other things excepted.
Not denigrating walking at all--I walk extensively, mixed with whatever
running I can do at the time.

Real walking is so infinitely superior to Sansone's hustle that she has done
an immense disservice to the crowd who can't do high-energy workouts and who
really needs to get all they can get out of their exercise time.
Actually, it's not a disservice: It's a robbery. Her rubber bands make it
perhaps a Class B Felony, instead of a Class A.

Outside, you can walk with handweights (HeavyHands, ala Leondard Schwartz,
great great book), you can vary gaits, include side stepping, backwards
walking, large-step walking, swing your legs, kick, you name it.

Very fast walking actually exceeds the calorie burn of running at that pace,
but uses different muscles.

If you can't walk outside, and for whatever reason all you can do is walk, a
treadmill would be well worthwhile.
The Feb 08 Consumer Reports has a review of these (and ellipticals), which I
summarized in a response to the misc.fitness.misc post Where should I start
on 5/3.

However, if you are able to walk outside, I would not recommend a treadmill,
and would also point out that walking in cold weather allows you to walk
very fast very comfortably, as heat/sweat is not an issue.
With layered/removeable clothing and gloves/muffs/perhaps a ski maks,
walking in sub-freezing weather is quite do-able.
Personally, I find 40 F the best fast walking/running weather.

Sansone's walking in place is not bad for a minute or two--it does recruit
different muscles.
After using this as a warmup, I would turn it into progressive "knee kicks",
where I try to touch my chest with my knee. Really a great
calisthenic/stretching/back exercise.

His clacker he had by this time 'wow gold'
(http://www.powerleveling-wowgold.com/) thrown away from him, as being
a mean 'wow power leveling'
(http://www.wow-powerleveling-wow.com/wow-powerleveling.asp) and sordid
instrument, offensive both to the birds and to himself as their friend.
All at once he 'wow power leveling'
(http://www.wow-powerleveling-wow.com/) became conscious of a smart
blow upon his buttocks, followed by a loud clack, which announced to
his surprised senses that the clacker had been the instrument of
offence used. The birds and Jude 'wow power leveling'
(http://www.wow-wowpowerleveling.com/) started up simultaneously, and
the dazed eyes of the latter beheld the farmer in person, the great
Troutham himself, his red face glaring down upon Jude's cowering frame,
the 'wow power leveling'
(http://www.wow-wowpowerleveling.com/powerleveling.htm) clacker
swinging in his hand.
