I was watching that documentary on hamburgers and this guy from Texas was
saying that if cows eat only grass, their fat is yellow and yellow fat won't
stick to your arteries. It is corn fed cows that produce white fat which
will kill you.

Is this guy full of it or is he onto something?

I would like to eat more red meat to get natural creatine in my diet... and
of course marbeled meat is tastier than the lean, lean stuff that you have
to cook medium or less to avoid it tasting like shoe leather. So, izzit
true... and, if so, where can I find beef with the yellow fat.

And please, no replies dealing with urine or such.

Thanks!

Do a google search on range fed cattle or range-fed cattle.

You can buy range-fed most anywhere, but you pay a premium.

Just a personal opinion. Wink I'm not a big fan of beef fat.>

But "not as dry" means the nasty fat is trapped in the meat instead of
cooking off. Not a good thing. Besides, do the words "mad cow disease"
ring a cow bell in your head?

Well I'm sure it's handy for resting your elbows on, whilst your butler

This is not answering your question, but leaner, less marbled beef is
best cooked in a foreman grill. Hotter, faster cooking keeps it from
drying out.

Eat it rare to medium rare for best flavor and texture.

Just a personal opinion. Wink I'm not a big fan of beef fat.

Not so much if you know someone that raises cattle, and buy the whole
cow. Wink

I paid $500.00 for a "range veal", a weanling calf on Texas range.
That price included processing. It was a Brangus calf and yield was 180
lbs. packaged.

I paid current market price plus processing fees...

Best damn beef I've EVER eaten!

I have one of those taking space in my kitschen... used it once. Now, the
maid just dusts around it.

You don't know what you are missing...
I use it at least 2 or 3 times per week.
It has a place of honor on the counter next to the stove.

Saves me tons of time and boneless meat comes out a LOT better!

This little one is wearing out. I'm in the market for a bigger one.

Wonder if I can put my frozen Omaha steaks on it without thawing them
first...

Mmmm... maybe. I don't generally try cooking frozen meat.
The defrost cycle in the microwave works fine to speed things up if I've
not thawed the meat ahead of time.

I try to plan ahead somewhat and take meat out of the freezer the day
before I need it and thaw it in the 'frige.
