Hi,

I am just wondering how you could reduce the amount of stretch mark you
get after intensive body buiding? Is stretch mark a common thing and
are they permanent?
Is there anyway to get rid of it once it is visible?

Thanks
Vincent

Yes and yes.

No. Ask any woman that has ever had a baby. Wink

Supposedly, their original appearance and formation in the first place
can be alleviated with the application of vitamin E mixed with olive
oil, worked well into the skin on a daily basis after bathing. You can
scent it with your favorite "manly" essential oil so you don't go around
smelling like salad dressing. Wink

You could also just consider them to be "battle scars" and wear them
with pride!

Oh, are you, perchance, taking steroids? That makes it worse.

Are they common - depends on how much you grow basically, and how fast. I
suspect if you had a very gradual rate of growth that you skin could adapt,
but most of us want to get huuuge now and therefore push our bodies to grow
faster than our skin is fully willing to accomdate.

Are they permanent - yes. The first time my fiancee saw mine she exclaimed
"What happened to you!?!" and I had to explain lifting heavy things on a
regular basis over a period of years caused it, and that it wasn't going
away.

I also think it may have something (a degree) to do with genetics. My father
(who was never a lifter) has some stretch marks, though not as severe as
mine. I would guess that I have skin more prone to it than some others
might.

I have stretch marks on the inside of my thighs by my nutsack from my
stretching for karate over the years. They're there for the duration I'm
afraid.
