From the Dept of FWIW
I typically walk more then 30 miles a week and most weeks have at least 1
day where I walked ~ 9 miles. Shoes are a major concern. Been through many
brands/models of 'walking' and jogging shoes. The Mizuno Wave running
shoes have worked better for me for long walks then any other shoe I've
tried. It's the only shoe I've found to have good shock absorption that does
not cause pronation problems after long distance. They typically have 1
model each year that is a 'Trail' shoe. I found 'trail' shoe performs as
well as the other 'wave' shoes and is far more durable.

The redhawk and the wildwood are the current trail shoe. I have both and
like them equally except for looks. Per note below, next year the trail
shoe will be the Ascend

Hi Bob, I checked with Chris at Mizuno and they do not have any size 9s
left in the Redhawk...
....Regarding the Wave Ascend, it looks great. It is based on the exact same
tool set as the Wave Maverick 3 which I really like, just with a different
upper and outsole designed for trail use. It does not have biolock however.
It is coming out Feb 15, 2005 but I expect to get a pair in the next month
or so to do some weartesting with and am really looking forward to it.

Thanks. Where is the "Trail Shoe" that's good for walking? I didn't see it
listed for 2004.
