| I was at the gym and saw some sick bastard benching 95lb dumbbells while
using a swiss ball as a bench. Could the ball possible pop? I shudder to
think of the outcome of such an accident. Has anyone heard of a swiss ball
popping under pressure alone (i.e. and not from being pressed on a sharp
object).

I wish mine would pop. I'd sue the living bejezzers out of the slimy swiss

They all come with a pressure rating - just check that.

I hope they come with a weight rating, otherwise, you'd have to
calculate the pressure based on internal surface area and weight on the
ball and add that to a known inflation pressure. Not that hard, but
still, ...

Nah, I'm just being anal. Too much tech documentation lately.

I saw some idiot pop one using it under a smith machine once...lucky
for him it was on the smith machine...he was able to hang onto the bar
without cracking his hollow noggin...not very bright. >> Stay informed about: Safety of Swiss Ball DB Bench Press |

Well, yeah, I meant to say weight rating, because that's what I've seen
in online listings for these things. My bad.

Why would you use a swiss ball (introducing instability) under a smith
machine (enforcing stability)?
Just me, looking for life to make sense again.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Well it does say 'idiot'.
