It's time to replace my old steeds. I've been wearing a very light
pair of Addidas xc running shoes, but they are wore out and are
starting to leak. The only other pair I have is a pair of Nike XC
shoes that I use for walking the mountain bike trails. I'm looking
for something light and with a good air insole.

Hey, Tom and John,

This makes me feel really good. I have a pair of Ecco shoes (women's
shoes--since I'm a girl!) but I had never heard of the brand before. I've
been very happy with them, but I've always wondered if they were considered
to be a good shoe by people who know. I'm glad to hear that you've had good
experience with them as well.

Cat:

I discovered Ecco shoes about 3
years and that's all I now wear.
Still, best to go for fit rather
than specific brand name. Lots
of choices out there, which is
good.

I'm going to buy my next pair in awhile...I like my Eccos so much, I'll buy
them again if I can find a pair.

Has this brand been around awhile, or are they relatively new to the walking
market?

Cat:

Ecco shoes have been around awhile.
I believe they're a Danish brand
where walking is a lot more popular
than the USA. I have 4 pairs that
I rotate.

Cat, I would try a Goggle search to see if you can get to the manuf. I shold
clarify, I wear the "receptor" sandals here in AZ, or New Balance atheletic
shoes and thats all...for footwear.

Lowa shoes come to mind - they make trekking boots but also lighter
shoes for hiking/walking. www.lowa.de, www.lowaboots.com
