I would like to know the proper setting for the Cybex preacher curl
machine. I'm referring to the seat height. Should it be set so your
back is straight to maximize the exercise?

I guess i was thinking of the body being a pefect plane to reduce
strain on the back. Maybe that exercise wasn't a good example. I
remember a trainer saying the body should be straight or perpendicular
to the floor. I'm sorry. It's been a long time since i've lifted
because of an injury at work, but i am slowly getting back into
exercising.

Why would a straight back maximize the exercise wrt bicep development?

If you use a machine curl, there isnt much stress on the back to begin with.

Just find a position you are comfortable with.
