Could it be a triceps machine? Is there an armpad between the uprights?

There are the two pads that you can see on the bar at the very top.
That bar is made to be pushed forward and down in some way, with the
weight controlled by the 1-9 switch.

My dad had one of those when I was a kid. You sit in the contraption,
lock your feet under rungs at the bottom and do a crunch like motion.
