I want to get a home exercise machine to use when I can't make it to the
gym. I've been thinking of getting a manual treadmill. Any general comments?
Recommendations? Machines to stay away from? Thanks.

I bought a Norditrack treadmil and love it. Sears has a good cheaper
selection. You don't have to hold bars. When your buying one make
sure the width/length of your stride fits on the length and width of
the treadmil track. You don't want your foot to hit half off, you'll
fall flat on your can. Check the speed, most go to 10mph. So if your
faster than that you'll end up spending more $$. There is nothing
like jogging while watching tv.

My mother bought a manual treadmill and I hated it. You can't walk
naturally and if you do use it enough to increase speed, anything over a
medium walk is agony trying to keep the unit going.
A motorized treadmill is the only one used by anyone serious in gaining
fitness.
