I tried box squats for the first time last night and got an all-time
high of 225lbs for 20 reps with a 15" box, which takes me down to
parallel depth. I've been stuck at 205 for a while, but there's
something psychologically supportive about knowing that I'm hitting
parallel every time that just powered me through. I hardly got winded
either. I just descended slowly to tap the box with my butt, maintained
strict form, and powered back up.
The difference was unbelievable, so if you've been skeptical about box
squats, try them! I'm curious to see if anyone else has a similar
positive experience. >> Stay informed about: Luvin the Box Squat! |

If you got to parallel on a 15" box, you must be really tall with no
ass. >> Stay informed about: Luvin the Box Squat! |

.... because you wrote that, I went back to the box and checked. I think
you're right. I need about another inch and a half to get to truly parallel.
Well, thanks for bursting my bubble! I'll have to build me a better box.
Darn.

I used to box squat off an 8 1/2" box but I wanted to be a little
below parallel. >> Stay informed about: Luvin the Box Squat! |

Easiest way to teach someone how to squat. Love them. Just wish there were
a way to keep my box at the gym. >> Stay informed about: Luvin the Box Squat! |

I'm well below parallel on my 14" box. It depends on your build. >> Stay informed about: Luvin the Box Squat! |
