Did Hobbes [was it he] take up the challenge? Did someone mention doing it
in reverse too. You know, like getting one of these kettlebell dudes to
squat 600lbs? Now *that* would be more interesting to me!

Wont work.

Even with superhuman neuromuscular activity, you need sheer, raw mass to
squat 600 pounds.

I tried it with my 70 lb kettlebell. It was awkward, but not hard to
squat. Balance was the issue. I did 5 awkward reps and felt it in the
knees today.

OYOH - I leaned forward some and wouldn't have been able to do it facing
a wall.

I really had to drive the knees forward to do it. I don't really like it
as a movement.

The point of the wall, I believe, is to control some of that. It makes
it into essentially a weighted hindu squat, torso almost upright. I do
_not_ recommend anyone try it the way you did for the reasons you
mention. I only do mine right in front of a wall.

If you're willing to try them in front of a wall, I'll work on them for
a while that way after my meet's over in another week. I think I can
fairly quickly get up to a 50 lbs. that way but 70 will likely take a
while.

Bill Kazmeier. The Kaz - who squatted over 900 lbs.

In all fairness to the first guy - Platz is using a supersuit and wraps.
But still.

What if you get SO immensly strong strong that when your muscles contract,
the entire building starts to shake and the walls will come down?

Ever thought about that?
