200 gms protein in a 2,000 cal diet is 40% protein.
The RDA for protein, which is already high for 50% of the population, works
out to about 8% of total calories (.8 gm/kg BW).
So you will be consuming 500% of the RDA for protein, which is
near-insanity. You will screw up your kidneys, and a dozen other markers of
metabolic health.
At those levels, you literally piss out protein (which results in a frothing
in the toilet bowl), likely damaging the nephrons over time..
For the naysayers, you should know that protein is perhaps the best studied
nutrient in the body, and .8 gm/kg BW is a very solid conclusion to decades
and decades of nitrogen balance in the human body.
Protein is the only toxic nutrient we consume. We are, obviously, built to
handle its toxicity, but any system can be overloaded.
