My beginner workout routine good? - I started lifting weights about a month ago, and I have asked for advice from my friends and I wanted to know if what I am doing is correct. A typical week at the gym looks like this: (a rep about equal to 10 tries) Monday: 10 min run to warm up, 3..

Post subject: Good workout program???

It's been many many years since I've been hiting the gym so I've become really out of shape. With all the stuff I have going on in my life over these years, exercising has been pushed to the bottom of this list of priorities... and now I'm looking for a gym to get back into shape, but I think I'm the type of person who needs some kind of program to keep me on track or else I simply end up paying the gym fees without ever going.

Anyways, I've taken a look at this CrossFit program because there's one near where I live, CrossFit San Jose (http://www.crossfitsj.com/) , and it seems like the best fit for my lifestyle. I'm really excited about joining this program because I'll be able to go online and get the daily workouts routine on the days that I don't have time to go to the gym.
This way I can keep my schedule flexible without ever falling behind in my workout.

So my question is: Has anyone tried this CrossFit program? Is it any good? Or is this concept so new that no one's ever heard of it before?

I went and took a look at it. It sounds like a pretty good overall fitness program. They seem a little hard-edged for my tastes, I've always preferred my gyms and workout buddies to be of the more supportive type. That said, everyone has a different set of needs, and these people might be just what you are looking for. Going online to get the workout routine is awesome, especially if it's coupled with personal attention. There's a cool website, FitResolution.com, that lets you select or create your own workout plan. They've also got a really neat set of progress tracking features. Maybe it can help you see how you're doing, and keep you motivated.

Best of luck to you!
Joseph
