It was a great weekend.

Texas beat OU (I'm an Aggie but my dad went to tu and I knew the words
to "The Eyes of Texas" before anything A&M).
Cowboys beat Philly (I work in Dallas w/family in Houston- long
commute).
Astros beat Braves in 18.
And I made Dallas Tollway in Addison to NW Houston (255miles) in 3hrs
32minutes leaving Dallas at 3pm on a Friday down IH45. In a 15 yr old
Protege w/242,000 miles and got 34 mpg (original engine and 5spd std
tranny & clutch).

It was a great weekend!

I bet she eats the whole thing raw, right at the butcher shop. That's
gotta be a snack for a hog like her. LOL

I used to have a friend who'd give me venison too. It is good meat. I
guess it's like a cow, I'll eat a steak, but not if I had to look it
in the eye to shoot it.

Hunter propoganda. Nature is self-policing. Starving herds of animals
is a natural counterbalance, splattering their brains all over the
landscape is not.
Let cougars and other natural predators return, and they'd do the job
just fine without us.

Sorry, but history has proven that to be wrong....
There are reasons why there are government sponsored professional hunts
held from time to time.

There are no natural predators in highly populated areas.

If you want it, you'd better download it. Tinypic will remove it from
their site as soon as they catch it.

Jpegs like that are not allowed. Wink

There are also no prey in heavily populated areas. How can you deny
that? Nature did fine for millions of years without us.

Yes, there are.
That was my point.
It's also not legal to shoot deer in the city limits.
There is a small herd on my street and I have to be careful
coming home at night around here. They graze on the lawn
across from my house.

Pretty things. Smile
Many people around here also put out deer feeders.

That increases the population and ticks off those with gardens.

And she will do fine for millions of years after we are gone...
and at the rate we are going, that might not be much longer.

Cheers!

I had it, deleted it, had it, deleted it, etc etc etc. No offense but
wee scots have seen every cartoon, heard every joke, about scots you
could ever find. Mostly due to them being posted on RMMBill.

Name 'em? Cougars etc don't go near people unless forced too. Deer are

I had gardens when I lived in suitable areas, but I planted extra for
the wildlife.

Yep, China is going to nuke us into dust. And frankly I don't blame
them.

Coyotes do, and I trap racoons, possums and ringtails that come to kill
my poultry. Racoons will only take baby deer. There was a cougar a
couple of miles away from me about 5 years ago. Animal control trapped
and shot it. It was presenting a danger to small children.

That, I think, was my point! With no predators and plenty of food, they
are going to breed like rats.

I put up a fence and let the dog run loose in that perimeter fence.
I don't have deer problems.

The landscaping in the driveway is not attractive to deer. Day lillies,
cannas and a few seasonal bulbs. They also leave my herb garden alone. I
don't bother with roses. Deer love roses.

Yeah. Sad

What we really need I think is this:

Coyotes are rare around here, but I guess I meant predators that would
take down a deer. I unintentionally feed the raccoons around here, and
there's little prey for them. They actually come around more for the
fresh water than the food. It's pretty funny to watch them get all
fours in a dish of water, and start washing up.

Rats are under control, and so would deer if left alone.

That's the last thing we'll see before dieing. But hey, there's worse
ways to die than being instantly turned to dust. I mean we'll see a
flash, and think "oh wow, someone's taking my picture?" and before we
can turn to look <ZAP> were returned to mother earth.

I have emailed my coordinates to Chiina, and asked to be at ground
zero. I figure if I survived, I'd have to fight you gun freeks for
food, and I really don't want to hurt you guys.

I sincerely hope that the butcher in question who slaughtered Star is a
proper rabbi as otherwise you will be in trouble with the big guy.
