Seems like her daughter may offer a debatable delight or two then? (at
least Joyce doesn't seem the type to write a 'tell all' book one day about
the goings on in the 'Ponsonby' household!) >> Stay informed about: Good weekend? |

My #1 favorite dish at "Outback" is roast rack of lamb. Served rare.

And I reciprocated.
IMHO Kangaroos are the "deer" of Australia.
Venison is pretty good too.
Deer tho' really are graceful and beautiful animals.
I've never personally killed one except to put down
a couple with broken backs from being hit by cars...
I have enough freinds that are deer hunters around here
that I get some free venison every year.
There are too many around here and the herds need to be
kept in control for their own health. They are also traffic
hazards, and destroy a lot of gardens.

I just bought a lamb. The cute little 4H kids raise them and then sell
them at auction. I buy one, engage a butcher, and pick it up all
wrapped in white freezer paper. Sometimes we know the name of the lamb,
sometimes we don't. Last year's was named Star. Star was delicious
with mint jelly.

Heh.
I generally buy calves or lambs site unseen and just pick them up at the
butcher when ready. I never see them live.
OTOH, I have raised emus, ducks, pigeons, and chickens for home
processing but I _never_ give them names!
It is lamb season, and I'm trying to get one for the freezer right now
but I've not gotten a return e-mail yet.
