Everything was roasted except for the corn. Wink That was nuked in the
husk. Since I was using a table top roaster, it saved power and effort
to just use it for the lot.

Glad you enjoyed the pics!

Corn is sort of a Labor day and Memorial Day tradition...

That's fantastic. I can picture Robert gulping and the sounds of a

Most welcome!

Next will be the Black Soy Bean series.
Black soy is the only true "low carb" bean.
Read the nutritional label on the cans from Eden Foods.
Reads almost like Science Fiction!

I use their dry beans. Only place I can get them is via mail order, but
I plan next year to try to grow some. Beans are a very easy plant to
cultivate.

Right. <G>

I find it amusing that I've mentioned in the past that I take Adderall
by Rx. Nobody commented on it until I mentioned their generic name!

How many people know that doc's feed children Amphetamines for ADD?
It's interesting how those drugs treat the brains of otherwise
hyperactive infant humans.

Yep.
Performance art.

The AC is one hell of a lot better than the Olympia, but do you have any
idea what it costs to maintain a HumVee? In insurance and gas alone?

Plus, how many _thousands_ of dollars do the winners spend on drugs to
win? Wink And food?

I'm betting that many don't even break even. They make up for it by
getting endorsement contracts. The losers are all SOL.

But, the promoters that sell the tickets aren't.

You misread that statement, but that's ok.

Thank you.
OTOH, I guess playing football can be as brutal and risky.
I don't, however, understand why Rob' is denying that some bodybuilders
have died back stage from Electrolyte imbalances. That's just denial.

Momo Benaziza comes to mind and there have been others. I read an
interview with Flex Wheeler about him running into trouble with that at
least once, but he survived.

Why on gods green earth do they use Lasix when there are other diuretics
that are not quite so harsh? Even Diazide comes to mind.

And him saying that carb depletion/loading does not work makes no sense.
I have some personal experience with that issue just during dieting
cycles. I know what it does to my muscles and it's not always
comfortable.

Disagree. I'd never define it as a sport.
Performance art/physique competition/beauty pageant maybe, but not a
sport. I guess it depends on one's viewpoint.

Oh I know that the dieting and training is brutal. I'm not ignorant
about that (and I'm also not TOTALLY down on drug use for help but I
think it's gone totally over the top is all) but the actual event is
hardly a real sport. You are POSING for pity sake!

If any body building competition can be defined as a "sport", it's
women's fitness.

THAT is sport! They are actually doing something with their bodies, not
just showing them off.

But, as always, YMMV.
The woman with the biggest boobs is not always the winner.

Nah. I like Robert and he really does have a lot of knowledge in body
building competition, and I've stepped in it myself in the past by
coming in in the middle of a thread. Wink

I cut people slack based on my own standards.

Oops! And the corn of course!
That's why there is only 1/2 of an ear.

It redeems itself by being high in fiber.

Constipated? Eat an ear or two of corn on the cob... <G>

No root vegetables are low carb compared to leafy greens...

http://freshcutproduce.com/nutrifax/carrots.html

6 grams net carbs per medium carrot. Okay, you can eat one or two if you
are trying to stay below 20 grams net carbs per day.

Compare that to, say, broccoli:

http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-C00001-01c20c0.html

2 grams per serving. You can eat 3 times as much Broccoli for the net
carbs.

Good thing you're in Texas -- in a lot of states, you'd lose your license.

And one HAS to work nights.

And one who works nights CANNOT get enough sleep despite having
the same number of hours in a day as everyone else.

a medium carrot is 60gms or around 4 carbs net. Per 100gms carrots give you
net 7 carbs and broccoli gives you 4 carbs - either way it is low - if you
are trying for 20 carbs per day max it is not sustainable imo and not
particularly good for you.

even Atkins only recommends 20 carbs per day for only a short time i..e. 2
weeks I think - and then he goes up to 50 carbs or so - main thing is should
be plant carbs

I like string beans.
Had some for dinner last night...

As for restricting carbs that low, it helps make up for the days that I
don't. Wink

I knew a 20-something who had a Corvette. The payment was $300 a month
and so was his insurance. He lived at home. And last I heard (this was
around 1990) he was selling it because he couldn't afford the six
bills a month to "own" it.

Regardless, I'd sell the vehicle, pay the taxes, and then pocket the
winnings.
