Yes, I noticed that, too. I put in 280 lb. as current max and the
software directed to perform 280 lb. x 2 in the very first workout of
the cycle. There's a trick.

Still, that was with a 370 lb. new max as a goal which the software was
forced to squeeze into a 10-week program. Obviously, realistic
expectations must be taken into account.

Your example of 250 to 500 borders on, no, *steps all over* the
ridiculous, Steve.

My last deadlift workout, I did 250 lbs. x 3 sets of 6 reps. I
certainly wouldn't expect my max to double in ten weeks regardless of
the computer program's suggested schedule. But I can set a realistic
goal of 275 lbs. x 3 sets of 6 reps, imo.

I hope your lifting is going well.

I picked up the July 2006 issue of Powerlifting USA, btw. Pavel's book
_Enter the Kettlebell! Strength Secret of the Soviet Supermen_ appears
in their "Power Stuff" section on page 29.

Oh, the trouble with formulas!

Although one's current max must be input on this screen, it seems to
have little or no relevance to the calculations. I just put in that I
have a 250 lb. current max and want to have a 500 lb. new max, and it
merrily prepared a program for me that, for anyone who actually had a
250 lb. 1RM, would be completely impossible.
