Post subject: Costco Treadmills - Ironman vs. Epic????
Archived from groups: misc>fitness>walking (more info?)

Greetings all --

After doing some google searching and other online research, I am
finally deciding to ask for some input. My wife and I are looking at
purchasing a treadmill for walking and maybe even start a little
running. (~90% walking / ~10% running after we get into a program)

(I am 6'1 and about 240...)

In any case, Costco has 2 different models available that fall right
into our $1000 budget. They have an Ironman "Triad" model for $1399
with a $400 instant discount for a total of $999 delivered. It has a
3hp motor, 20"x60" surface, 10mph/10% incline max, and warranty is 12
yr motor, 2yrs parts, 1yr labor. (check it out at costco.com)

The Epic T60 (EPTL81840) is about $100 less, and I would have to pick
it up at the store. Don't really have many specs on it, but do know
it is made by Icon, which a lot of people don't seem to like due to
reliability issues. Treadmilldoctor says the Epic is a good deal for
$100 less, but that there are reliability issues, cheaper parts, etc
and that they like the quality of Keys-built machines better.

I think I am leaning toward the Ironman, but wanted to get some
opinions from the folks in the different fitness-related newsgroups.

Thanks for any help, opinions, advice, etc!
