Just like tires on a car, the more miles you put on them the more often you
should replace them. When you see a favorite pair of sneakers on sale, buy
them. Then you can alternat between two pairs of shoes so you aren't
putting as much miles on one pair. Also, use the shoes only for your
walking workouts. Each step goes towards putting more miles on them. I
run on the treadmill at the gym. After the run, I take my running shoes
off and put on slides to wear home in case I have to make some stops on the
way.
