Yeah, for the most part Maincoons are playful and gentle (of course, there
is a wide variation).
Mine is a talker, good golly he is a talker! He has more variation in his
speech than I do!
He also tries to catch things with his front paws. Never seen another cat do
this. If I drop a piece of turkey in front of him, he will put out his paws
like hands and try to catch it like a baseball.

Well, in stark contrast to Dally's retarded neighbors, I took Mo to a
New Year's Eve party with me. She had a great time, and met another
dog, a couple of cats, and several people. There were a couple of tiffs
with the other dog, who attacked her in a sad little attempt at a
dominance display (you can't really blame her, it was her house.) I
was a little concerned that it might turn into a real fight, but once
they got it settled who was bigger and stronger (Mo, of course), they
got along fine. I'd much rather let her play and be social, even though
I know there's a risk of injury.

Relax, dude. She only had a few sips of beer. Not nearly enough to
affect her driving skills.

The passsenger seat? Hey, Lee, another misPelling or is that a
misSpelling?

(Yeah, I snipped it all. You can *imagine* what it looked like.)

Good one geek girl.

Reminds me of that gag done years ago with a dog. This guy built a car that
allowed him to drive the car from the passsenger seat. And had his dog
pretend to drive the car with sunglasses on. When asked why the dog (driver)
wore sunglasses, he told them that the dog was blind!

It got a lot of responses. I saw it on more than one show..It looked pretty
convincing too. Some people have entirely too much time on their hands.

Very nice.

The occasional dead rat is usually offered to us (in fair exchange for
turkey--he can't seem to find any wild around here!)

It must be Curt James crawling out of the bozo bin.

As for the mispellings, etc, that has been covered before.

Not that you care.

Back into the bozo bin for you.

One Christmas, we had all the Christmas presents in a basket waiting to go
under the tree. Our dog dug down through the presents, pulled out the one
with his name on it, opened it, and enjoyed the contents. Just couldn't wait
for Christmas, I guess.

But I still don't know how he learned to read his name.

That's simple, it's on his collar!

With my last dog, a Stafforshire terrier, I used to wrap milk bones in
the bits of wrapping paper left over from gifts and sprinkle them around
the tree on christmas morning. She would carefully unwrap them one at a
time, discard the paper and eat the cookie. Sometimes she'd toss one at
me.

Yogi just doesn't have those kind of smarts. At first he struggled with
the wrapping and then after he'd eaten a couple with the paper on he
decided they weren't ready. He looked at me like I was playing a mean
trick on him and I had to unwrap them for him. He's a Golden, more or
less, you see. Really nice, but he is never going to college. We've
had to accept that.

LOL. If a dog is courageous, loving, fun, and loyal, what more do you want?
It is for lesser dogs to be clever.
