That is what I said in the post
"Just a thought. The original Diesel was designed to run on Coal dust,

5th Gear said peanut oil originally. In their piece about running a car on
chip oil. And then suggested it would run on dripping too without
modification. Wish they'd actually tried it.

I thought it was dripping he used right at the end?
Looked *horrible* and he didn't even filter it.

Twas indeed peanut oil. GM / Dupont / Standard Oil were the ones to make the
use of "DERV" oil the standard thing to run them on.

Heh, diesel is a horrible fuel anyway, I'm glad the Xantia doesn't use much
of it.

So... Emptying a big tank of dust into the air intake should give a boost to
power.
Or a tank of custard powder.
I dont have a custard - opps meant oil burner to try this but...
Could someone sprinkle some custard powder into the intake with the filter
removed on any deisel car while its idling please. If the revs rise a
little then it really works... Please someone try it! Report back here.
Pre ignition shouldnt be an issue as I imagine custard is as least as high
octane as propane and that causes no pre ignition issues. Wonder what its
calorific value is? Should be on the tin! >> Stay informed about: Birds Custard....Is there nothing finer?? |

Wouldn't matter much if it sets...

I remember one test involving a push lid tin with a pinhole in the top and
bottom, a tablespoon of talc or custard powder, a good shake, then left over
a flame.
Air / powder mix gets right and boom.
