I was lifting weights for about a year when I developed a problem with
my ulnar nerves. It's been a year and a half since I've lifted on a
regular schedule but after a few tests, lots of treatment and some
doctor approval I'm back to lifting again. I was doing some research on
HST just before my elbow injury so I never got to do it but now I'm
using the 15s and 10s to get back into lifting. I'm thinking about
doing two complete cycles of the 15s and 10s (total of eight weeks) and
then start incorporating the 5s. After I've completed a couple of full
HST cycles I'll probably move towards a strength training plan. Goal is
to shed some of the fat I've put on in the past 1.5 years and gain some
strength back.

Is that a good way to get back into weight training or is it too much
too soon?

Try it. If it will be too much, simply ease up.
