I've seen articles with pics of Dorian Yates doing his rows in a
similar fashion. Instead of having his torso parallel to the floor he's
at a, what, 45 degree angle? Obviously this enables the lifter to move
heavier weights.

That looks like what ol' Fit Lynn is providing.

A bikini top and a pair of combination bikini bottoms with miniskirt.

She's standing more erect, and pulling in the bar lower, than I would
consider effective, even for a Yates row. Her movement probably
provides some lat development and isn't inherently dangerous, but I
think you would be better bending a little more at the hips, keeping
the knees slightly bent, and pulling the bar to a point higher on the
abdomen.
>BTW, what is she wearing anyways?
I dunno. Ain't seen nothin' like that in my gym.

Whatever she is doing, it's not a Bent Over Row. I went to the
normally dependable http://www.exrx.net only to find that their
demonstration wasn't much better:
http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/BackGeneral/BBBentOverRow.html
He is lowering the bar to the floor and using his legs and back to
achieve whatever lift he thinks he is doing.
I found this rather more simple diagram to display a correct Bent
Over Row, although his back is a little more rounded than I would
recommend :

It's looks rather more like a show girl's costume than it does
practical workout kit. However, she is more than welcome to come to my
gym and disport herself, although I would likely be doing more ogling
than exercising!! ;o)
Have a great Sunday John - you know I will!! ;o) >> Stay informed about: Barbell Bent Over Row Form: Does This Look Right? |
